I realized none of the screenshots below exhibited our dapper man

Had a bit of fun outfitting him. As an Austinite I may have favored orange tones. A million shouts out to our partners at YHWH Games!

  1. So I am really loving this game, but there are a few problems that I would like to address.
First of all, I dunno if it’s just me, but the horse movements are very slow and have no sound. I am not sure if this was intended but the animation when my horse is walking and trotting is really slow, they speed up only at gallop level.
Secondly, I would like to address that the game is quite confusing, especially if you have never played VHR before. It’s hard to say what works and what doesn’t, and there doesn’t seem to be any immediate feedback when I train my horse or try to compete, etc. that will tell me whether what I am doing is actually doing anything or not.
Also, I know the game is still being developed, but there is a huge need for some sort of an automatic tutorial. As I said, the game gives you no feedback on what you are doing or shows you clearly how to do things, so thus far, I haven’t been able to really get into it other than just run around and capture horses.
I would also love to see some slight changes to the camera. Rotating around using the left mouse button is a bit harsh, it would be a lot of better if we could control it with a right mouse button and if the camera rotation was a bit firmer, because now it just flies around when I try to rotate it.
I am pointing all this out because I really want for this game to succeed at being something awesome. I don’t know how many people really play it (because I never see anybody in the online chat) but I am worried it might end up like that old 3D version that once existed but never really took off, pretty much for the same reasons. It was really confusing and lacked direction and proper feedback. Hope that gets addressed here soon!
Looking forward to all the updates!

    • Hey there-
We’re working on sound/sound effects. Horse movement is based on the horse stats… So a mule would move a lot slower than a standardbred (then you add in trained values). The bigger problem is they get too fast!
Second/Third issue- why I am working on the quest system, it’s actually more like a tutorial! Will be out next week!
Camera- we’ll have options to change any keybinding settings. Thank you for reminding me about that.
Thank you for your excellent feedback!! We really value this.
      Shannon
